Case study - Merton Young Inspectors

Title of the project: Merton Young Inspectors with London Borough of Merton

About you – a short description of your organisation and the team

The London Borough of Merton is a local authority based in South West London; it covers areas such as Morden, Raynes Park, Colliers Wood, Mitcham and Wimbledon. The council has emerging priorities for all residents which includes civic pride, sustainable futures, supporting children and young people and sporting heritage.

In children services this is manifested in the children plan which is a direct response to the Young People peer led survey of the views of over 2000 young residents and another 200 in focus groups. We provide services to all parts of Merton's community. In relation to this work we run the local council youth service in targeted areas of the borough and working in partnership with the Merton Youth Partnerships.
