Studying Politics and Economics at LSE

Why did you want to join the PYL Youth Board?

I wanted to join the PYL youth board as I see it as an incredible opportunity to further empower young people through the youth-led engagement and participation projects but to also bring a youth perspective to the work you are doing. I am keen to meet like-minded young people who are driven to make our world a better place

What are you working on at the moment?

I am currently engaged on a platform which is designed to accelerate the rate at which we meet the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs). Growing up between Nigeria and India and witnessing first hand the daily challenges faced by people has stimulated my appreciation of the impact funds channelled through charities can have – Maanch ( this platform) aims to highlight the initiatives that meet the SDGs most effectively. The founder herself has lived the life of the bottom one percent growing up in India and is so aware of how little it takes to really have such a positive impact. Maanch links charities and donors and tracks this impact in real time.

I am also working on educating young people about the SDGs  and encouraging them to identify what is being done and what more is needed to enable them to  better help them build their local eco system and to encourage and help them to engage in activities that will do so at a grassroots level as well as directing funding through the platform to these initiatives thus encouraging young people to be changemakers, passionate about helping the world and enabling and encouraging them to be leaders in their local communities and hopefully inspire other young people.
