Stop Smoking & Vaping Board

The Young People’s Stop Smoking and Vaping Advisory Board brings together young people aged 16-25 to shape the future of public health by addressing the growing challenges of youth smoking and vaping. The board is a space for young Londoners to share lived experiences, influence local and national policy, and co-design campaign materials and research papers.

We explore trends in tobacco use across London, with a focus on specific groups such as LGBTQ+ young people, working-class communities, and those experiencing mental health challenges. We also look at both mental and physical health implications for young people plus climate problems.

This work is delivered in partnership with the London Tobacco Alliance and NHS London, who supports a wider effort to make London Smoke Free by 2030 and to facilitate conversations about health and wellbeing.

Programme of work

What we do

Through regular workshops and collaborative projects, board members have the opportunity to:

  • Lead peer-led research and consultations

  • Co-produce campaigns targeting youth vaping

  • Develop resources for schools and youth services

  • Engage directly with public health teams and decision-makers

We create space for young people to have honest conversations and build collective responses to the health challenges they care about.
