Violence and violence prevention for children, young people and families | 01-Nov-14 | Race Equality Foundatiopn | There is growing evidence of the impact of violence on children and young people, both as victims/witnesses of violence and as perpetrators of violence. Violence comes in different forms, for example, in gangs, bullying or domestic violence. Exposure to violence can have a detrimental impact on individuals physical and mental health, and on their wellbeing. Focused interventions in health policy and other areas of violence prevention can overcome these effects. This briefing will outline evidence relating to violence and young people, looking at domestic violence, sexual exploitation, gangs, youth violence and equality issues. It will also outline evidence of what works in violence prevention. | http://www.raceequalityfoundation.org.uk/resources/downloads/violence-and-violence-prevention-children-young-people-and-families | Equalities |
