The VCS frontline staff play a key role to support service users during the current health crisis. Hackney CVS and Partnership for Young London are supporting the children’s sector workforce to improve their understanding of how to protect staff and support service users at this challenging time.

About the Event
This Zoom Trauma Awareness training will provide an overview on trauma informed practice and how to best support those experiencing COVID-19 related loss and bereavement. Self-care for staff working this area will also be covered.
Topics to be covered in this session include:
1. Understanding the impact of COVID-19: A trauma perspective 2. Using the SENSE model to structure interventions 3. Working with children and families-priorities and objectives 4. Trauma informed approaches to engagement 5. Working with traumatic bereavement during COVID-19 6. Strategies for self-care-understanding vicarious trauma
Attendees will also have the opportunity to raise any areas they feel they require further training on which will inform the next session.
