About the Event
this event is ONLY for participants of the previous contextual safeguarding sessions.
Thank you all so much for participating in the training days with Dr Carlene Firmin and Professor David Shemmings to begin the process of becoming Champions for trauma and contextual safeguarding informed practice across the voluntary and community sector.
We are inviting you to the first Community of Practice meeting where we plan to take a close look at the Terms of Reference for the group, a more detailed look at the role of the Champion, and begin to create a collective plan for the year ahead; looking at what further learning we want to undertake and how we will manage the community going forward so that we all feel that we are able to get the best out of the time we have together.
The aim is to meet once a month with alternating purpose to the meeting; with one month having a themed learning session which is then followed the next month by an implementation and reflection session relating to that themed session. This will allow us to explore the benefits or challenges of implementing new ways of working or approaches informed by trauma and contextual safeguarding as well as build networks to support one another within the sector.
We’re looking forward to meeting with you all again and building this exciting community of Champions together.
