Nine Elms Lane, Nine Elms, London SW11 7US, UK
About the Event
We’re delighted to be able to offer a visit to the American Embassy in Nine Elms (the film location of The Diplomat on Netflix!) for 8 care experienced young people aged 16 – 25 years with the Assistant Cultural Attaché, John Steele, and Siroun Button, Project Researcher for Partnership for Young London. Both have been in care themselves and will be sharing their own journeys and how they got to their current positions.
The session will run until 3:30pm and include:
- Tour of the American Embassy
- Discussion on journeys to overcoming adversity
- Open Q&A on careers
- Signposting to schemes, programmes, bursaries and scholarships available
An interest in diplomacy, politics or international relations is not required – just curiosity and a desire to get ahead! It’ll be an informal day and a chance to ask as many questions as you like.
If anyone has any particular areas of interest in terms of careers, let us know in the form and we’ll do our best to have specific information on it!
If you’d like to read further on John:
Please register by Friday 28 July as we’ll need to submit names to security. We’ll also meet at 1:40pm at the Embassy entrance on Nine Elms Lane to allow time for security checks.
ID will be required.
