About the Event
Peer Research Network
2.00pm to 4.00pm, 4th of December 2020
We are bringing people together to talk about the latest developments in participatory research with young people, giving organisations the chance to share the work that they are doing.
We will email you a zoom link closer to the day.
Introductions 2.00pm – 2.10pm
National Youth Agency Peer Research qualification 2.10pm – 2.20pm
Debbie Terras from the National Youth Agency will update us on the work that they are doing, in partnership with the University of Cumbria, around creating an accredited qualification for peer researchers that all organisations can use in their own projects.
The Young Foundation’s ‘Peer Research in the UK’ report 2.20pm – 2.40pm
A look at their recent report, which can befound here, which takes an in-depth look at the use of peer research in the UK today. It examines what methods are being used, and how it is currently being evaluated.
Partnership for Young London’s Youth Manifesto 2.50pm – 3.00pm
An update on the work we are doing ahead of the London Mayoral Election in 2021, and the participatory research being done for it. There is an opportunity to bring together organisations, and the peer researchers they work with, for a joint Manifesto for Young Londoners.
Break 3.00pm – 3.05pm
Youth Endowment Fund Network of Peer Researchers 3.05pm – 3.15pm
Peter Babudu, Head of Research & Youth Understanding, will provide an update on their plans to create a national network of young peer researchers in areas with high levels of serious youth violence
Sharing participatory work as a group 3.15pm – 3.45pm
We want organisations to share the work they are doing or planning. It would be good to know what learning you can share with the network, what opportunities there are for people to be involved, or what support you are looking for.
Closing remarks 3.45pm – 4.00pm
