About the Event

This session will look at the learning from the work completed through a number of the Young People’s Foundations and it will aim to both share practice and also profile an opportunity for groups to apply for funding (up to 8K) to develop their own local research. This session will offer the chance to review the work completed by 3 Young People’s Foundations, including:

  1. Harrow Needs Analysis
  2. Young Westminster Foundation – A City within a City
  3. Hammersmith and Fulham – Young People’s Research which is currently underway

The session will cover:

  • how undertaking local research has changed the focus of their work
  • assessing the methods used and learning from the approach, specifically young people’s engagement in the design and delivery
  • consider how local areas can take a more research informed approach

Pilot Funding

As part of the work happening under the remit of the Cornerstone Fund, each year there is the opportunity for groups to apply to a local offer of support to fund a research informed approach. Participants attending this session can  then submit a proposal for 8k to develop their own micro projects. Within this we would be encouraging them to identify the following:

  • The research area that they would like to explore
  • The partners engaged to date
  • How young people will be involved in the design and delivery of the research
  • How research partners will be engaged to help shape the work

This will be assessed by the research network which has been set up by the Cornerstone Fund.

Lunch and refreshements will be provided.
