About the Event
This is a Roundtable Event where women of the African Diaspora use the simple art of conversation to share, support and learn from each other. It will be unique as the theme(s) discussed will be co-created by whoever is in the space. This work is about appreciative inquiry and learning, so we create a path to solutions, rather than offering advice or judging what is being said. Storytelling is the fastest route to true human connection and influence. Sometimes in order to process our thoughts more fully, we need to step away from the situation and think about it in another context. Storytelling provides the opportunity to do just that, as it allows us to open it up to new perspectives. Come and share your wisdom…
How it works - a topic will be democratically chosen by the group and then we will be guided through potential solutions by a facilitator using the simple but powerful techniques of reflective practice. Women share or discuss real-life stories and issues that are often complex, multi-layered, and are open-ended in nature and do not have a right or wrong answer. By listening and thinking together during the session, it creates a continuous, balanced and act of learning.
