About the Event

These sessions are an opportunity for those working with young people to reflect on the impact of their own intersectional identities and how that influences and impacts on their social justice work with young people. The sessions will be reflective and interactive with a view to offer a space for understanding how we chose the work we do (or the work choses us) based on on these identities and lived experience. It will explore the strengths and/or limitations that these intersectional identities bring when working in social justice led organisations. In understanding this we will also explore how we remain resilient within the ongoing social justice challenges that are being faced by the organisations we work for and the young people we serve. We will work within the precept that everyone is a learner as well as an expert through lived experience and therefore also a teacher in the space. In so doing, we will aim for a co- creative space in which coming together, to share experiences, helps us find patterns in relation to our collective challenges and solutions for a way forward for ourselves, and the young people we work with.
