Involving young people in research: examples 10.35am – 11.05am
We will hear from a range of organisations about their approach to participatory research, and how they are involving young people in their research. Including:
• Merton Council – The impact of Covid-19 on Merton young residents.
• Young Foundation – Young people’s experience of youth violence
• Toynbee Hall – Young people in East London’s private rental sector
• NSPCC – TBC
• All Change Arts – Suzanne Lee, Creative Director, talks about their approach
Young researcher’s toolkit and training 11.05am – 11.25am
We will hear from Matthew Walsham from Partnership for Young London, about the launch of a new peer research toolkit and training offer.
• Young researcher’s toolkit – The GLA and PYL have partnered to launch a toolkit that supports organisations to empower young people to create and conduct their own research projects.
• Training for organisations – There will be an offer of free training over the next six months for youth sector organisations to learn about different aspects of peer research.
Closing remarks 11.25am – 11.30am
The GLA will close the event, highlight the future work that they’re doing bringing young people closer to the heart of decision making.
