Mental Health First Aid England® Becoming Youth Mental Health Aware

About the Event

This Mental Health First Aid England® introductory three-hour session raises awareness of young people’s mental health.

It covers:

  • Some of the common mental health issues affecting young people, including  depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis
  • Skills to work more effectively with young people living with mental health issues.
  • Ways to support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their  experiences.
  • The learning takes place online and through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.

Everyone who completes the session gets:

  • A  certificate to say you are Youth Mental Health Aware
  • A   manual to keep and refer to whenever you need it

Eligibility for participants

  • One space per organisation
  • An employee/volunteer of a small, voluntary sector organisation 
  • Had minimal or no Youth Mental Health training recently
  • Supporting young people directly in a deprived community in England

Please note that there are limited places available for this course and a commitment is expected once registered. Please do keep in touch and let us know as soon as possible if you don’t think you can take up your place as we will be running a wait list.
