Dr Simon Aulton, Regional Development Manager, Scout AssociationSimon is the Regional Development Manager for the Scout Association in the South East of England, supporting the continuing growth of Scouting for around 100,000 young people. Simon has worked in the voluntary youth sector in London since 1998, developing strategy, capacity building and ensuring suitable safeguarding for this time. Simon has also taken a key role in the writing of the youth curriculum and has written or contributed to a number of books on programme delivery for adults and to support the programme for youth members. Simon is currently working to increase the diversity of Scouting in the South East, working towards an ambition of being representative of the population by 2012. This has included the promotion of co-educational youth work and the opening of new provision for minority communities. He is a member of an inter-generational network steering group where he is working to promote volunteering opportunities for people of all ages, to work together to deliver quality youth services. Simon is married with two daughters. |

Sarah Davies, Director, Summer UniSarah Davies has worked in the voluntary sector since 1995, as a community worker and since 1998 for Tower Hamlets Summer University (charity number 1048822), overseeing the vibrant summer and year round programmes and leading on providing advice and consultancy for other boroughs to set up their own summer programmes, through Summer Uni London. She became the Director of Tower Hamlets Summer University in 2002. Previous to working in the voluntary sector, she studied agriculture and worked in crop research for Cambridge University and for five years as a Plant Breeder (flowers) for Pan American Seeds. She is a firm believer in all skills being transferable and has a passion for travel and photography. As well as working with Tower Hamlets Summer University, she is on the management group for Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership. She is actively involved in campaigning for vastly improved rail and public transport and against the unsustainable expansion of Stansted and other airports. |

Chris Heaume, Chief Executive, Central London ConnexionsChris Heaume has worked with young people in Central and East London since 1974. From a volunteering background in youth work in Guernsey as a young person and in Germany as an exchange student, Chris went to St. Luke’s College Exeter as a teaching and youth work student. He took up his first full time job in London at West Ham Youth Centre in 1974, and subsequently worked in Camden and then Islington in detached and school-based youth work respectively. After a one year secondment to the National Youth Bureau to lead the consultation on a youth work curriculum, he moved into mainstream education at the new Tower Hamlets College as Assistant Principal for Student Affairs, responsible for marketing, admissions and student support to develop an inclusive approach for younger students and adults. In 2000 Chris led on educational regeneration programmes in the London Borough of Islington Lifelong Learning department, and then piloted the new Connexions service as Connexions Manager. He moved to Central London Connexions as Chief Executive in June 2002. Chris was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours of 2007 for services to young people in London. |

Lenny Kinnear, Chief Executive, Y-GenLenny Kinnear Lenny began working in London as a teacher in a comprehensive school in Croydon in 1979. He then worked with young offenders in Ealing before moving into youth work in Sutton. He has held local authority management posts in Richmond-Upon-Thames, Wandsworth and Hillingdon. Lenny has always been passionate about developing sustainable youth projects and in promoting positive images of young people. He has established thriving youth forums and set up specialist provision in arts, sports development and for disabled young people. In 1999 Lenny was responsible for initiating a series of capital projects in west London including leisure centre modernisation and the construction of two country parks. Two new pool leisure complexes are now being built in Uxbridge and Hayes to complete these long running projects. Lenny was appointed Chief Executive of Connexions North London in 2003 and successfully turned the company around. He then managed its transition into a new charity, Y-gen, which specialises in developing practical approaches towards empowering young people. Lenny counter balances a fairly sedentary occupation with DIY projects and gym workouts. He is a keen photographer and enthusiastically plays golf to no great effect. |
Tom Mautner , Association of CollegesTom represents the Association of Colleges on the Board of PYL. In 1980, he founded, and continues to head, Taurus Consultancy, an organisation which provides worldwide specialist information systems consultancy services to all branches of the Motor Industry. Tom has been a Governor of Hackney Community College since its incorporation in 1993. He is the Chairman of the Board of Governors, and also chairs the College’s Information Services Steering Committee and its Search Committee. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the College’s subsidiary Trading Company. He is married, with three grown-up daughters, and for relaxation he plays the drums in a semi-professional Blues band and rides his motorcycle. |

Wayne Wreglesworth, former Director of Duke of Edinburgh's Award, LondonWayne Wreglesworth is a Management Consultant, the Managing Director of ASY Associates and former London Regional Director for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. He is a Freeman of the City of London with excellent networks and a successful record of developing partnerships between agencies, business and the voluntary sector in major leisure, education and youth activities. He brings to the board of PYL a clear strategic vision and an understanding of organisational and project development. He also undertakes the responsibility for HR matters for the team at PYL. |
