About us

Partnership for Young London is a strategic organisation working to promote and improve youth work and services for young people across London, through partnerships with central and regional government, local authorities, voluntary and private sector youth organisations and young Londoners. Our remit is extensive and covers youth work, wider services for young people and the 14 to 19 agenda.

Our aims

Partnership for Young London aims to:

  • play a co-ordinating role between the maintained and voluntary youth sectors
  • support the development and delivery of high quality services for young people
  • provide opportunities for London-based services to respond to and impact upon national Government agendas that affect young people and young people’s services
  • assist in developing, supporting and disseminating good practice
  • provide a voice for young people’s issues in London
  • demonstrate the contribution youth work can make to wider initiatives

Our work

Partnership for Young London facilitates forums, working groups and networks to enable discussion within and between sectors, and develops specific projects in response to current issues for youth practitioners and young people in London.

Partnership for Young London works closely with the Greater London Authority and London Councils, and collaborates with key stakeholders such as the Heritage Lottery Fund and the National Youth Agency to take forward its work. To read a summary of our work in 2010-11, see our Impact Report; for more detail about the organisation, see our Annual Report and Accounts for the Charity Commission.

Our services

Members of Partnership for Young London receive a wide range of services, which include:

  • regular policy and practice briefings
  • free and discounted conferences, seminars and training events
  • consultancy support, tailored to the needs of each organisation
  • opportunities to get involved in regional forums and working groups
  • opportunities to share practice and promote local projects

I would like to commend you and your team for this excellent resource. I always read the PYL update because it always delivers high quality content. It is a veritable gold mine of resources and tools to support youth practitioners and managers in our endeavours to provide high quality services and opportunities for young people.
