The Leadership Development Programme is part of a series of programmes for managers and leaders in the young people's workforce, and is fully-funded by the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC). It is aimed at middle managers and is delivered by the FPM Training Consortium, of which PYL is a partner. 150 middle managers will undertake the course, with places being allocated equally between the statutory and voluntary sectors and delivery being nationwide throughout January and March 2010.
These programmes represent the biggest single investment in the youth workforce, with over 5,000 managers and service leaders receiving training over three years, with all places being fully-funded by CWDC. 2009 has already seen the successful delivery of both the Leadership Enhancement and the Management Development Programmes. The third in the series is the Leadership Development Programme. Aimed at middle managers who are looking to take the next formal step up in leadership, it is therefore specifically for members of the youth workforce who are at the early- to mid-stage in their careers. The programme is offering 150 places nationwide, with allocation being split equally between the statutory and voluntary sectors. Applications are limited to one per local authority or voluntary organisation. Courses are taking place between January and March 2010 and recruitment is now underway, deadline for applications to be received 5th October 2009.
