Leaving Care Conference: Creating a Better Future for Care Leavers

Capita's 3rd National Leaving Care Conference provides

delegates with the skills to ensure effective advice and support

for young care leavers around finance, health, accommodation,

education, training and employment.

It is fundamental that tailored services are in place to help

professionals plan ahead to ensure a good start for the six

thousand young people that leave care every year. This can only

be achieved through successful partnerships between the main

agencies and young people themselves.

With the new Government now in place, there has never been

a better time for key stakeholders and practitioners to come

together to ensure that every care leaver has a fair chance to

succeed and is fully prepared for an independent life.

Capita's Leaving Care Conference addresses the key issues,

including:

  • Understanding the expectations and prospects of children

leaving care in the context of the new Government

  • Analysing inconsistencies in benefit support and guiding

young people through the benefit system

  • Helping young people into employment and examining

employers' perspectives on engaging care leavers

  • Legal advice on protecting and safeguarding issues
  • Ensuring high quality housing provision that meets all care

leavers' needs

Don't miss the opportunity to hear forecasts on the future of

leaving care.

Attend service focussed sessions and best practice from the

leading professionals to improve lives of all care leavers.
